*Duties:*
* Conduct nutritional assessments for all new patients, considering their individual needs, preferences, and medical history for a total of 6 residents.
* Work directly with onsite Chef to develop and approve weekly menus that reflect Nutritional Psychiatry Didactics taught, and meet state guidelines
* Develop personalized dietary recommendations, treatment plans, and meal plans tailored to each client's specific nutrition requirements and treatment goals
* Collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary team, including therapists, physicians, culinary professionals, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated care and holistic support for our clients.
* Provide ongoing nutritional counseling and evidence-based education to clients and their families, empowering them to make informed choices and develop healthy eating habits.
* Facilitate family sessions and education; including therapeutic meals; as appropriate
* Provide group-based nutrition education that is appropriate to the age group and developmental needs of the patients
* Communicate with outpatient
* Monitor clients' progress and make adjustments to meal plans and interventions as needed, in consultation with the treatment team
* Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the field of adolescent nutrition and eating disorders, integrating new knowledge into your practice.
* Participate in supervision with the expert consultants and collaborate with the treatment team to ensure the best standard of nutrition and dietary services are occurring
* Support staff with the enforcement dietary program expectations
* Demonstrate an understanding of the medical complications of eating disorders
* Communication with medical doctor, as needed, regarding any medical problems that may require dietary intervention. Communication with psychiatrist where applicable.
* Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of client assessments, interventions, and progress notes in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
* Participate in Compass' Social Media Committee creating content to support eating disorder recovery, and managing your mind and mood through food

Tuesday: 8:30 am - 1:30 pm

Wednesday 8:30 am - 1:30 pm

Thursday 8:30 am - 1:30 pm

This position is a training opportunity for a Registered Dieticians wanting to develop a specialization in treating mood disorders and eating disorders:
* Your Medical Director is trained in Nutritional Psychiatry and will be able to oversee your training in managing mood through food.
* Your Dialectical Behavior Training will be overseen my DBT Certified Clinicians
* You will received on-going expert eating disorders treatment consultation by an RD who is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist
* You will receive intensive training in MED-DBT: Medical Management of Eating Disorders in a DBT Framework
* Due to the intensive training nature of the position, we are asking for a 24-month commitment.

*Qualifications: *
* Bachelor's or master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
* Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a dietitian, with specific experience in treating adolescents with eating disorders strongly preferred.
* Solid understanding of adolescent development, mental health issues, and the interplay between nutrition and mental well-being.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with adolescents and their families.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines in all interactions with clients and colleagues.
* Requirements to pass a criminal background check, child abuse registry check and all other state licensing requirements

* Compass Behavioral Health is in Tustin, California, in the beautiful heart of Orange County.
* The Farmhouse, our new residential treatment facility, is a serene and therapeutic backdrop for teaching and practicing whole body wellness.
* Amenities in our half-acre compound include a chef’s kitchen, full outdoor kitchen with wood-burning pizza oven, outdoor living areas, organic garden, greenhouse, and is home to over 30 fruit trees throughout the grounds. The half-acre compound consists of 3 buildings including a full fitness gym with state-of-the-art equipment, infrared sauna, bocce ball court, and sport court, swimming pool and jacuzzi.
