Position Overview

Sets up, runs, and maintains EDM drill, RAM EDM, and wire EDM machines. Builds new dies, gages, fixtures, tooling, etc. for basic jobs using tool room equipment such as manual lathes, manual mills, drills, surface grinders, EDMs, and measuring equipment utilizing cost effective measures.

Key Accountabilities:
Run production and tooling on Wire EDM Programs, sets-up and/or operates EDM, wire, sinker and hole drill machinery for final product development Performs periodic maintenance on machines and full machine clean outs Proficient in the use of all types of mechanical and visual inspection gages, instruments and equipment to perform first piece and in-process inspection of product for assurance of continued compliance to quality expectations for dimensional, aesthetics, form, fit and function features, as well as, minimizing scrap and defective product. Participate in activities related to new product development and implementation into production. Proposes continuous improvement opportunities for all processes. Participates in 5S activities and ensures a clean and safe work environment is maintained. Build partnerships within and across departments to provide efficiency and create a supportive work environment. Work safely at all times by consistently following safe work procedures for your position, as well as well as all safety procedures required at your worksite. Promptly report all incidents and safety issues to your supervisor.

Required Qualification
Previous experience with CNC Wire EDM equipment Has performed Wire EDM setups Advanced knowledge in blueprint reading, math and computer skills. Process flow knowledge Detail oriented and efficient. Ability to multi-task. General use of inspection equipment to include comparator and CMM. Above average computer skills for tooling design and tool path programming. Must be able to complete tasks in a timely fashion. Must be detail-oriented with large emphasis on accuracy.

• Interpersonal skills, ability to work and communicate with others in a constructive and professional manner

•Repairs and/or cleans dies, tooling, fixtures and gages as required to maximize machine up time throughout the company.
