Communications Coordinator

Supports and works in partnership with others on Baird's Corporate Communications teams to plan, develop and implement communications efforts to effectively convey Baird's brand and key messages internally and externally. Communications and PR and teams develop and execute communications strategies in collaboration with Baird's business and other leaders, associates in Marketing & Communications and throughout the firm, as well with outside partners.
As a Communications Coordinator, you may:
- Assist with Baird's overall communications efforts, help research, write, proof, edit and implement internal news stories, associate announcements, award nominations, presentations and other communications.
- Post and update BairdWeb content for M&C and other internal clients, including business units and departments.
- Help support communications related to Baird's Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) strategy as part of the firm's commitment to being a great place to work for all.
- Has primary responsibility for the planning and execution of various recurring projects across channels,
- Provide tactical support to more senior members of Communications Team during complex change events.
- Support communications initiatives for Baird Foundation and other firmwide community outreach programs.
- Send out broad group communications on behalf of Baird's senior leaders.
- Assist team's ongoing efforts to track and report on communications analytics to help drive communication strategy.
- Create photo arrays, video clips and other digital content for communications as needed.
What we look for:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Marketing preferred
- Two or more years of Communications-related experience, including internships; financial services experience is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize daily workflow to meet deadlines
- Must be a strategic thinker and a quick study.
- Ability to be a strong team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong PC skills with good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with SharePoint, graphic design, photo editing, video project management and other disciplines of marketing and communications a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills; must interact effectively with all levels and areas within Baird.
- Must have strong writing, editing, communication, organizational and consensus-building skills.
