Primary Function of Position
The primary focus of this position is to partner with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to develop and sustain a well-trained and flexible workforce through hands-on training, mentoring, and formal certification, allowing for consistency and integrity of training from the time an employee is initially onboarded. This person would own the training of new processes and products from Engineering to Production and may assist in content development and refinement (MPIs, QC documents, etc.). This Mfg Trainer II would assist in management, scheduling, facilitation and development of the KindHeart ATM Training Curriculum and documentation thereof. The Mfg Trainer II would also monitor associated Training KPIs and strive to achieve improvement goals set in these areas. This position would also help to perform day-to-day administrative duties and tasks to support production and training.

Essential Job Duties

Prepare and deliver training courses in the areas of manufacturing skills and processes, quality requirements, Information Technology tools and other subjects as required to develop trainees to a higher knowledge level.Track and maintain training data for accuracy in ISU or equivalent databaseCollaborate with production supervisor in monitoring technicians’ efficiency and determine if retraining is required based on the performance.Provide support to Manufacturing personnel and the production line as needed.Conduct training of Manufacturing personnel and perform certifications per certification criteria and requirements. Track and report on cross training metric.New Product Introduction and design enhancements:Work with R&D to learn the build process, establish criteria for training and certification of new skill requirement.Establish quantity of repetitions for the Training Phase, Mentoring Phase and total repetitions required for certification.Develops new training curriculum/contentProvide DFM feedback to Engineering in case process or design changes are requiredEvaluate assembly processes for Ergonomic concerns and be able to escalate issues of potential risk to management.Maintain area-training matrices, schedules and plans.Apply latest concepts and ideas to changing organizational requirements to effectively manage training and certification criteria and requirements.Contribute to process improvement initiatives (production styles and training specific systems and methodologies) and root cause analyses to drive continuous improvement and production excellence culture.Provide Instructor Led Training (ILT) as needed.                      Assist production management with onboarding, new hire screening, developing new certification guidelines etc.Identify and prevent gaps in training and production coverageAssess employee skills and provide feedback to managementUpdate/ red-line MPIs using PowerPoint/Excel/Word as required.Able to generate ECO’s and implement Training portionMaintain excellent attendance recordPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

Perform at a high level with consistency and be in good standing, (e.g. QPN quality issues and Attendance); Ability to demonstrate leadership, independence, and meet CCEE standards.Basic level of competency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to present training course material to individuals and groups and to effectively facilitate their learning processExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skillsBasic understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and disciplines.Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and KindHeart ATM quality system requirements.Maintains a clear and robust understanding of all manufacturing guidelines, policies, procedures, etc. Has an understanding of MPI/WI templates, Design Controls, Change Controls, Product and Engineering ProcessesProven ability to lead by example and facilitate a ‘one team’ mentality

Required Education and Training

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate degree or higher preferredPreferred 3 years of experience in ISI product manufacturing or greater

Working Conditions 

Ability to perform fine motor tasksAbility to lift and carry up to 20 lbs unassisted

Preferred Skills and Experience

Excellent technical assembly capabilities and exceptional track record in production preferredUnderstanding of human and animal anatomy is a big plusKnowledge of learning management systems preferredKnowledge of adult learning principles preferredExperience working within the Medical Device or a similar regulated industry preferredExperience with relevant manufacturing related software such as Agile, SAP, and ISU preferred Additional Information

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
