Food Clerk-Stocker

**PAY IS DETERMINED BASED ON EXPERIENCE**

Primary Responsibilities

Greet, assist, and lead customers to product politely

Actively stock, merchandise, and correct product

Build and fill displays as needed

Maintain company standards for perishables and stay up to date on all active safety procedures

Transportation of goods within department

Ensuring Health and Safety Codes, checking for pricing and expiration, and maintaining an organizational standard area.

To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, assisting within other departments as needed to service customers.

Stay up to date and in congruence with Health and Safety standards, as well as holding a working knowledge of cleaning supplies and various chemicals and machines within the department.

The capability to understand merchandising labels, warehouse order codes, numbers, reports, printed paper invoices and order forms.

Ability to comprehend and provide complex verbal instructions and descriptions concerning store policy and procedures, and usage of equipment.

To assure the safety of self, customers and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediately. Pick up/remove all broken containers, packing materials/boxes from the sales floor or customers’ pathway immediately.

To understand the operation, safety requirements and restraints of a baler, case cutter, pallet jack (must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack and baler).

To move damaged/unsalable and "returnable" products from shelves to the backroom, sorting the materials for return to the damage reclaim center.

Qualifications

Basic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide)

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Prior Experience in related field or industry

Specific tasks

Lift, twist, move and carry a maximum of 50 lbs., from the floor to shelving, or overhead racks in the store

Maintain active signage and pricing in all departmental areas

Care for signs, banners, and debris from daily operations

Respond to customers, coworkers, and vendor questions and responses promptly and politely

Proper usage of store phone and intercom systems

Work Environment Note:

Inside work with transitions of heat/cold/humidity/dust from receiving/entrance and exit doors/parking lot areas.
