OVERVIEW:
Our ideal Assistant Designer candidate will assist our Design team through the whole design process—from concept to production. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment, be able to multitask, and have outstanding organizational skills. We value a strong work ethic, passion, and proactivity. Our company consists of many different divisions and private labels. The Assistant Designer will help out with multiple labels and accounts, and will take on the below responsibilities:
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-        Assist Design team in all private label collections including blouses, bottoms, jackets and knits
-        Must know how to sketch and create detail sheets
-        Complete tech packs in our PLM system
-        Create CAD artwork, sketches, and linesheets
-        Knowledgeable in market research, trends, and color
-        Spec/measure garments
-        Assist in fittings and tech meetings
-        Organize private label previous seasons—fabric, samples, prints, etc.
-        Communicate with overseas factories, mills, and other divisions
-        Maintain samples and showroom
-        Assist in lab dip, strikeoff, and bulk fabric approvals
-        Source trim and new/updated fabrics
-        Have a good understanding of garment construction
-        Coordinate with sample room—both domestic and overseas
-        Special projects as assigned by Design Team
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
-        Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design from an accredited Design school
-        1+ years of experience in industry
-        Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, PowerPoint, and Excel
-        Previous design internships and/or industry experience
-        Willing to learn and help other colleagues in design process
-        MUST be organized
-        MUST have great communication skills
