Position Summary:

The Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences’ Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor. This faculty will primarily be responsible for providing course direction and didactic instruction to student pharmacists. An important aspect of this role involves building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in community pharmacy across North Carolina to foster collaboration, identify opportunities for partnership, and advance the profession. The selected candidate will play a vital role in educating future pharmacists, contributing to the advancement and viability of community pharmacy practice, and serving the community. Candidates with experience in community pharmacy will be particularly valued for their insight and understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing community pharmacy practice.

The successful candidate should have a BS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of pharmacy degree with post-graduate experience in community pharmacy management. It would be highly desirable for the candidate to have experience in the education of student pharmacists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide didactic lectures on various topics to student pharmacists.
Direct didactic courses, including but not limited to operations, calculations, pharmacy practice skills course (PPS), Law & Ethics, US Healthcare, and elective(s).
Participate in the PPS OSCE skills labs.
Serve on CPHS and Department committees as assigned.
Staff the health center pharmacy as needed.
Train pharmacists, technicians, and students to be vaccinators, providing the APhA Pharmacy-based Immunization Delivery Certification training (usually 3-4 offerings per year).
Maintain CPHS expectations in Service, Teaching, and Scholarship consistent with rank and appointment as identified in the CPHS Policies and Procedures Governing Appointments, Promotion, and Tenure (APT) for the faculty in the CPHS.
Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX and Information Security, HIPAA, FERPA, and other state and federal mandates.

Education/Experience:

Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with equivalent experience required.
Master of Business Administration degree is desired.
Active NC pharmacy license (or eligible for).
Certificate of completion for the APhA Pharmacy-based Immunization Delivery.
Experience in the operation and management of a community pharmacy.
Didactic instruction in a Doctor of Pharmacy program desired.
Experience in establishing clinical pharmacy services in a community pharmacy practice setting desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively with all groups through oral and written channels.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Familiarity with PioneerRx Pharmacy software desired.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms.
Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials, and the public.
Work independently as well as function effectively on a team and within a diverse group of people.
Exercise independent judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
Manage multiple concurrent projects and meet set deadlines.
Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to work in a changing environment.
Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours.
