We are hiring a full-time lead position as a Farm Mechanic/Maintenance Supervisor for our operation in Waterloo, IN that will enjoy a wide variety of experiences and responsibilities. While the position will focus on maintenance, shop and mechanical work, we are also able to mold the role around the strengths of the candidate. Our day to day activities are very diversified and we value an employee that wants to grow in their role and become a long-term, integral part of our farming operation. Strong mechanical background and experience are required.

Your day-to-day activities would include, but not be limited to:

  • Managing shop and maintenance work on a modern farm operation with a wide variety of equipment
  • Supervising, teaching and overseeing other employees in maintenance operations
  • Assisting management with planning and oversight of daily activities
  • Supervising and participating in the operation of large farm, application and precision ag equipment.
  • Completing written and/or electronic records
  • Other activities within our operation may be tailored to the interests, abilities and ambitions of the employee
  • Performing these tasks with the ability to teach, train, work alongside and oversee co-workers is a critical function of this position.

Skills and experience necessary:

  • Strong interpersonal skills are required
  • Be willing to work as a team while overseeing and assisting others
  • Ability and willingness to communicate openly with management
  • Large equipment operating and maintenance experience
  • Must be physically capable and willing to climb, lift and shovel
  • Be safety conscious at all times and have the ability to give as well as follow detailed verbal and/or written instructions
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons
  • Have a positive attitude, be self-motivated and disciplined with attention to details
  • Have strong basic math skills
  • Ability and confidence to make decisions on the fly without supervision and complete a job to the best of your ability
