With oversight from the Program Officer for Family Reunification, the Family Reunification Intern will play an important role in processing family reunification applications for the Former Soviet Union Affidavidts of Relationship (FSU AOR) and Iranian Refugee Information Form (Iranian RIF), on behalf of IRC clients.
COMMITMENT
6 months starting in May 2024, 18.5 or 37.5 hours per week (full-time preferred, but flexible).
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Family Reunification Intern will assist in vetting, submitting, and tracking of Former Soviet Union Affidavidts of Relationship (FSU AOR) and Iranian Refugee Information Form (Iranian RIF), in accordance with standards set forth by the Department of Stateâs Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM). This includes applications received from IRC field offices, providing targeted feedback on required corrections or updates, if needed; and updating and maintaining detailed tracking of application submissions to ensure accuracy and timeliness. The Intern will work closely with the Program Officer for Family Reunification.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES1. The intern will gain knowledge of the United States Refugee Admission Program (USRAP), specifically the Pre-Arrival processing.2. The intern will gain knowledge of family reunification programs within the USRAP, specifically the Lautenberg Programs (Former Soviet Union Affidavidts of Relationship and Iranian Refugee Information Form). 3. The intern will develop skills in quality assurance data tracking. 
REQUIREMENTS⢠Bachelorâs degree preferred.⢠Experience working with immigration or resettlement programs preferred.⢠Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.⢠Excellent time management skills and ability to maintain tight deadlines required.⢠Clear written and verbal communication skills required.⢠Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, required.
This is an unpaid internship position. No financial compensation, including compensation for relocation, is available.#LI-REMOTE
