Grow your career as a Lead Data Architect with an innovative global bank in Tampa, Florida. Contract role with strong possibility of extension. Will require working a hybrid schedule 2-3 days onsite per week.

Will serve as a trusted counsel for the Head of HR Data Engineering, CDO (Chief Data Officer) and Engineering Managers. Will be trusted to look at our Data Transformation roadmap and provide feedback & suggestions. You will work alongside some of the smartest minds in the industry who are excited to share their knowledge and to learn from you.

Contract Duration: 12+ Months
Required Skills & Experience

15-20+ years of experience in the field of Data warehousing & Data Engineering with large scale implementation success stories. Deep and varied experience in the field of Enterprise Data Engineering & solutioning including Cloud hosted solutions, Data Warehousing, Data Lake and Lakehouse models. Core Technical Skills including but not limited to : - Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Data warehousing (Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Data lakes (Hadoop, Spark, Presto)
- Lake houses (Databricks, Delta Lake)
- Data virtualization (Starburst, Denodo) & Data Security Frameworks
- Data engineering tools (Airflow, Beam, Spark)
- Programming languages (Python, Java, Scala) &
- API Management (Data Distribution) – API Versioning, API Management, provide API subscriptions / feeds (JSON, XML, CSV) with scalability & performance.
-AI/ML awareness and its applicability in Data Warehousing (data collection, storage, processing, and distribution) What You Will Be Doing Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data requirements and opportunities Design and implement cloud-based data warehousing, data lakes, and lake houses Ensure data architecture is scalable, secure, and high-performing Lead the evaluation and selection of modern data engineering tools and technologies Oversee the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integrations Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with industry standards Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support data-driven decision-making Lead the implementation and optimization of data virtualization solutions like Starburst Ensure seamless data access and integration across disparate data sources Develop and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements Mentor and guide junior data engineers and architects Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning Ability to make executive level presentations (fluent with quick decks, architecture sketches to sell ideas and drive adoption & consensus)
