Accountant II
What You'll Do:
-Review and analyze monthly freight costs to ensure the general ledger is accurate and that appropriate accruals are recorded
-Prepare monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations
-Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for management, including variance analysis and explanations
-Assist management in preparing schedules and providing support for quarterly and annual internal and external audit requests
-Develop, implement, and maintain financial systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines and compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley
-Provide accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff; respond to financial questions and/or concerns to meet business needs.
-Assist with periodic freight/transportation projects
-Perform various month-end close accounting duties related to private fleet, common carrier, dedicated carrier and rail
What You'll Need:
-Bachelor's degree in accounting
-Knowledgeable of US GAAP
-Two or more years of accounting experience
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Strong verbal and written skills
-Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
-Flexibility to work, take ownership, and succeed in a rapidly changing environment
-Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel such as pivot tables and advanced formulas
-Proficiency with SAP is preferred
