Welcome to Van Gilder Commodities We are currently hiring for both full-time and part-time roles as Grain Elevator and Dryer Operators, Grain Inspection Techs, and Grain Elevator Millwrights.
We are farmer focused…market driven Join our team at our 4.5-million-bushel corn and soybean facility located in Albion Michigan. While working at Van Gilder Commodities, you will focus on safety, be expected to be farmer centric, remain family focused, and be held to the highest level of integrity.
We are currently interviewing for:
- Grain Inspection Tech, you will open the scale house, sample, inspect, and test grain. We are willing to train the right person. Your core duties are operating the grain scales and the computer systems to ensure the quality of inbound and outbound products. As a grain inspection technician, you will also be responsible for clerical duties related to the grain origination/merchandising operations within the local grain team including contract administration, ticket application and grain settlement processing. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service, organizational, multi-tasking, interpersonal, and computer skills; the ability to communicate effectively; the ability to enter data accurately; provide customer service in a confidential manner; and possess analytical skills.
- Elevator and Dryer Operators (1st, 2nd and 3rd shift) you will be performing a variety of duties from loading and unloading grain, performing light maintenance on grain equipment and/or facility, operating grain dryers, testing/recording incoming grain, and more. You must be willing to climb.
- Grain Elevator Millwright(s), you will perform maintenance, repair, and installation of grain handling and storage equipment. Experience preferred but will train the right people. You must be willing to climb.

- Comfortable working in variable weather conditions.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
