Located in the most exciting state-of-the-art development to come to DTLA, this luxurious 28-story hotel will have over 300 rooms, a spa, a 16,000 square foot rooftop with a pool deck, over 16,000 square feet of event space, and 6 food and beverage outlets. This includes a signature restaurant & bar, a signature bar, a rooftop restaurant, a lobby bar, a pool, and in-room dining all in partnership with Chef Jose Andres' award-winning restaurant group, Jose Andres Group.

In this role, you will oversee around 10 team members, report to the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage and the Director of Food & Beverage, and oversee the entire beverage program including, but not limited to cocktails, beer and wine.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in beverage management and has experience with managing team members part of the Local 11 Union.  Preferred qualifications include experience with Acubar and Birchstreet, WSET Sommelier Level 2 Certification, Food Service Sanitation certification, Alcohol Service permit (if state required), and CPR certification.

What will I be doing?

In this role as the Bars and Beverage Manager you will be responsible for Directing and administering sales of beverages in restaurants, lounge and banquets.

Hire, train, supervise, direct, coach, counsel, and evaluate staff in all beverage operations in the Hotel. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the staff. Assign and instruct Beverage staff in details of work. Observe performance and encourage improvement were necessary. Communicate with guests and employees using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information. Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situation and/or heavy hotel activity, serving as a role model for Beverage staff and other hotel employees. Interact with sales department personnel and restaurant staff as needed for guest service purposes Field customer complaints by conducting thorough research of the situation in order to choose the most effective solutions. Make decisions and take actions based on previous experience and good judgement, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations. Develop and implement basic operating standards for Beverage service in compliance with federal, state, local and Hilton's own practices. (e.g. Employee Alcohol Awareness Training and Compliance)  Maximize restaurant department profitability; implement effective controls of food, beverage, and labor costs and monitor the restaurant’s budget to ensure efficient operations, including achieving budgeted revenue and labor expenses. Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering, retrieving and stocking product. Evaluate cost effectiveness of all aspects of operation. Develop and implement cost saving and profit enhancement measures. Maintain established inventory by ordering all liquor and supplies in accordance with business needs. Requirements

The annual salary range for this role is $75,000 to $85,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
