Member Services Representative

The Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) - established in 1916 - is a dairy farmer-owned and operated milk marketing cooperative and dairy processor. As the 10th largest dairy cooperative in the U.S., MMPA serves dairy farmers throughout Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana, employing approximately 625 people in four states. In addition to a cheese plant in Indiana called the Middlebury Cheese Company, and a dairy product plant in Ohio called Superior Dairy, MMPA operates two SQF Level 3 dairy ingredient plants in Michigan. Products made at MMPA's plants include fluid milk, cheese, ultra-filtered milk, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk, cream, and condensed skim milk.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Member Services Representative ensures the marketability of members' milk by providing integrated services and value-added programs to include animal care education, equipment evaluation, and farm operations. This role partners with member farms to facilitate the production of high-quality Grade A milk and secures new member farms capable of producing the highest quality milk and operating with a strong commitment to animal welfare and environmental stewardship.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide animal care guidelines and conduct on-farm audits to ensure the integrity of the animal care program at each assigned farm to support milk quality and environmental goalsCoach members in methods to reduce environmental footprint and drive sustainability effortsImplement equipment evaluation program at member farms to support milk quality and operational efficiencyProvide value-added service to members including resolving quality issues, addressing non-compliance, and assisting with implementation of improvements to drive each member farm's successSecure new member farms by educating farmers about the benefits offered by MMPAMaintain positive relationships with haulers and customers through route and hauler auditsEncourage participation in educational opportunities for membersRecommend products and services to meet each member's unique needs based on thorough knowledge of all MMPA member products and servicesManage member records and other related data in a timely mannerFrequent travel within assigned territory (approximately > 80% of the time)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or related fieldAgricultural or related experienceAbility to work independently Excellent verbal communication and/or interpersonal skillsStrong problem solving and consultative skillsProven track record in working with a team to address regional issuesExcellent practical learning skillsExpected to reside in the assigned territoryProficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
