Digital Production Intern

The Grand Rapids Griffins are seeking a talented individual to join our social media team. This position of Digital Production Intern will primarily assist in capturing memorable moments of fans and gameplay. This will be a hands-on internship providing the intern with a chance to gain experience in the field of digital production and videography for a professional sports organization.
 Length of Internship:  October 2024 – April 2025, with the option to extend through the 2025 playoff run (Terms and conditions of internship may be adjusted at any time)

  • Senior Director of Creative
  • Digital Media Production Manager
  • Digital Media Coordinator


Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Develop concise, eye-catching, and innovative content to support a cohesive digital strategy 
  • Work alongside the Digital Media Production Manager to create in-game and social videos.
  • Shoot, Edit, and Produce content pieces in a professional sports environment.
  • Ensure day-to-day communication with management while providing weekly analysis of work, maintaining current and accurate records of individual projects
  • Data reporting on various platforms in weekly presentations with management
  • Responsible for covering community events and team events on each of the different platforms
  • Conduct weekly hours in the office outside of the game schedule to edit, label, and brainstorm alongside the social team.

 Desired Qualifications: 
  • Must have knowledge of general cameras and post-production work
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work game nights and community events (including weekends and holiday games)
  • Have a passion for the world of social media marketing, videography and digital marketing 
  • Skills and knowledge of all Adobe programs are REQUIRED
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Outgoing personality; comfortable starting conversations with fans
  • Strong writing skills 
  • Strong Internet research skills 
  • Detail-oriented and organized 
  • Positive attitude and a team player 

 Requirements: 
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and eligible for college credit. 
  • Available 30 hours per week 
  • Must have own reliable mode of transportation. 
  • Must have own laptop capable of processing design programs.
  • Must have own camera gear, however we have basic items that can be used in the event the intern does not.
  • Must be available to work all 2024-25 home games. Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required, and housing is not provided.
  • Completing regular office hours on non-game days
  • Various duties assigned
