Physician-Associate Chief of Staff/Education

This is an Open Continuous Announcement and will remain open until December 29th, 2023 or until the position is filled. Duties

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
The Associate Chief of Staff for the Clinical Education and Research (ACOS/CER) Service
functions as the primary advisor to the Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief of Staff and Medical Center
Director on all Research and Education programs.
Major Duties / Responsibilities are but not limited to the following:
-Provides overall coordination of multi-funded and/or multi-site research project(s).
-Participates in developing research designs, data collection methods and strategies for data management.
-Coordinates multiple data collection efforts which may include other collaborating agencies or institutions.
-Develop and monitor reports and work with funding agencies.
-Collaborate with study personnel in the strategic planning of future external funding grants.
-Develop research designs, data collection methods and strategies for data management.
-Design, create and revise research instruments as necessary to ensure quality data that correlates with research objectives.
-Management of Workforce Development Training Staff and Education Program Staff.
-VA point of contact to address issues related to Health Care Professional Trainee's (HPT) and their training while rotating at the VA medical facility.
-Ensuring medical/dental students/residents rotating to a VA medical facility are enrolled in or sponsored by affiliated institutions.
-Ensuring that psychology/social work internships to a VA medical facility are enrolled per guidelines.
-Collaborate with HR staff to ensure appropriate appointments of trainees, including without compensation appointments. Providing orientation or assurance of orientation at the service level.
-Ensuring affiliation agreements are executed properly for all programs sending medical/dental students or residents to VA medical facilities for education purposes and are executed and responsibilities assigned to VA Medical Center are fulfilled.
-Physician will perform Clinical duties within Specialty as assigned.
-All other duties assigned
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm; On-call responsibilities as needed for administrative purposes.
