Position: Sr. Medical Systems Engineering Technologist

Position Summary:

The HTM Senior Medical Systems Engineering Technologist (Senior MSET) performs evaluations, repairs, inspections,
and preventive maintenance on devices used in the care and treatment of patients at UHS facilities, affiliates, and other institutions that have relationships
either owned or contractual. Supervises staff. Participates on EOC Committee. Manages projects. Focuses his or her performance to ensure that all
patients receive the safest and best possible experience while at the facilities serviced by the HTM Program. Works independently with minimal
supervision. Delivers exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators and all persons who are contacted during
the course of their service. Delivers service that meets and exceeds all regulatory requirements and compliance for the position held. Assists HTM
leadership with developing and strengthening facility and vendor relationships. Responsible for executing and meeting all requirements of the
established key performance indicators (KPI’s).

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Documents and maintains records of all work activities in the computerized
maintenance management software. Participates in continuing education. Participates
in on-call schedule/rotation as directed. Routinely manages the corrective and
preventive maintenance of devices as assigned as well as follow-up communications
on this work and any other assigned responsibilities. Travels to other sites from
primary location as directed/needed. Understands and employs all regulatory
requirements. Understands and properly operates all test equipment required for the
repair and maintenance of devices in the HTM Program. Pulls and terminates cabling
including fiber optic cabling. Follows all established corporate and local policies and
procedures pertinent to the position held. Participates in and/or facilitates in-service
education to device users. Provides cross-training/education to other HTM team
members. Coordinates the ordering of replacement parts and/or service on devices.
Ensures replacement parts/services are delivered and ensures accuracy of invoicing.
Ensures all exchange parts ordered by the MST are returned for proper credit within
the time frame specified.

Requirements:

1. Extensive experience with healthcare technology management programs
2. Ability to supervise subordinates
3. Manages projects including device acquisition and installation and/or EOC committee assignments
4. ACI Certification Required (CBET, CRES, CLES or CHTM)
5. Must possess skill-set of advanced modality HTM expertise such as clinical laboratory, medical imaging,
   radiation/oncology, real-time location systems, alarm management middleware or high-end biomedical devices such
   as device integration/networking, catheterization lab/electrophysiology monitoring systems
6. Medical equipment knowledge (manufacturers, models, modalities, capital planning, etc…)
7. Understanding of regulatory requirements of medical devices (CMS, TJC, CLIA, AABB, NRC,State, Local)
8. Advanced/Strong computer skills (proficient with Microsoft products), experience with CMMS products
9. Strong planning and organization skills. Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills
10. Travel will be required periodically

5. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
6. Bending and lifting (5-10 lbs), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling.
7. Ability to understand and interpret financial data
