We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Aide - Medical Surgical (2 North/South) - Full Time, Nights (7PM - 7AM, Alternating Days) - NS.
In this role, the successful candidate Under the supervision of the registered nurse, performs routine service duties and basic nursing procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients. Assists with the preparation of the room and equipment for diagnostic procedures. Patient Care Delivery- The nurse aide delivers basic nursing care to provide for

the care and comfort needs of the patient.

Provides direct nursing care to patients by performing such tasks as vital
signs/weight, complete/partial baths, skin care, Foley catheter care, enemas and
specimen collection in compliance with policy/procedure.
Demonstrates proper turning, positioning and transferring techniques when providing patient care.
Estimates amount of food/fluid consumed by patient at each meal from the tray and

records the data on the flow sheet, Intake & Output record, or Calorie Count Sheet.
Prepares equipment
Identifies the patient prior to care delivery by checking the identification arm band
of patients or equipment.
Accepts care assignments willingly and goes to other units when required
Responds to fluctuation in workload by helping to complete tasks of another staff
Interacts effectively with the staff on the unit and in other departments.
Works collaboratively with management to improve the environment of care for
Seeks out and utilizes the Nurse Manager and Nursing Administrative Supervisor to

address issues that require their assistance to resolve.
~ Participates in the evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices and

Attends and participates in educational programs offered in the hospital to maintain

Complies with staff meeting attendance requirements.

BLS certification (AHA only) and first aid training.
De-escalation training provided on job.
Ability to read and write at an elementary school level to understand the patients plan of care and to record data on the patients medical record
Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients and their families that demonstrate recognition of cultural diversity
Basic analytical skills in order to gather data, complete comparisons, interpret, & report outcomes to the nurse or document on the medical record.
