Process Engineers provide common standard methodology for propagating Engineering requirements to product design activities, link product development to production capabilities, provide standard documentation for material performance characteristics and selection criteria, and provide support for the proposed solution throughout the product life cycle. Quickly address production issues related to materials and processes, ensure root causes of issues are understood and solutions are robust and cost effective.
Provide on the job training for materials and processes.
Train other engineers on material usage and processes.
Actively participates in daily production meetings.
Collaborate with Factory personnel.
Notify the Materials Management Team of any potential materials obsolescence or supply chain interruptions.
Operations liaison working with Materials & Process Engineering (M&PE) to quickly address problem buys and obsolete materials: Identify impacted RMS end users, determine material requirements, find alternatives (drive testing as needed), ensure new materials will work in existing processes, and use the opportunity to drive to common materials.
Improve processes utilizing Lean manufacturing techniques to reduce variability, eliminate constraints, and provide ongoing process sustainment
Drive use of common materials based on allowable requirements on the drawing, utilizing process engineering tools.
Author of Manufacturing Procedures
Support process troubleshooting efforts to quickly and efficiently resolve manufacturing process issues. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
S. government issued security clearance is required. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
