Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a TEMPEST Engineer / Principal TEMPEST Engineer for the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division Engineering and Manufacturing team. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
Make significant contributions to a team of engineers in TEMPEST testing and analysis
Conduct TEMPEST testing in accordance with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02
Review TEMPEST testing results
A minimum of 2 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Software discipline from an accredited university; A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Software discipline from an accredited university; 0 Years with PhD.
Understanding of how to ensure systems and equipment meet NSTISSAM TEMPEST 1/92, CNSSAM TEMPEST 1-13, CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02 and other TEMPEST requirements
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Ability to present engineering findings orally and in written technical reports and presentations
Active Top-Secret Clearance with an investigation date in the last 6 years or ability to obtain
Certified TEMPEST Professional Level I (CTP-I)
Experience conducting instrumented TEMPEST surveys
Familiar with NONSTOP TEMPEST testing
Prior experience testing in a certified TEMPEST Lab
trace routing, PCB board layer stack-up, cabling, and I/O protections to facilitate compliance
Ability to use design simulation tools to analyze shielding performance, filter design, and identify potential vulnerabilities from schematics or board layout deficiencies
