Responsibilities of the Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Tech:
Prepare and position patients for cardiovascular interventional radiology procedures, ensuring optimal imaging quality and patient safety.
Operate and maintain specialized imaging equipment, such as fluoroscopy machines, CT scanners, and other diagnostic tools.
Assist physicians during interventional procedures, including but not limited to angioplasties, stent placements, thrombectomies, and catheterizations.
Monitor patient vital signs and condition throughout the procedure, reporting any changes to the attending physician promptly.
Administer contrast media and other medications as required under the supervision of the physician.
Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols in the preparation of the procedure room and equipment.
Document patient information, procedure details, and any technical findings in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR).
Perform post-procedure care, including patient monitoring, education on aftercare instructions, and preparation for discharge.
Participate in quality assurance programs and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations.
Stay current with advances in interventional radiology technology and techniques through ongoing education and training.
Applicant Requirements:
BLS Certification
ARRT or RCIS Certification
Cardiovascular and 2 years interventional rad experience required
