Description

The Patient Placement RN is responsible for high level assessment and quick initiation of level of care decisions for patient's waiting for placement in an inpatient setting. Critical goal is to assure high quality, individualized, cost effective patient placement. Ensures accurate admission status demonstrating initiative and effective decision making. The Patient Placement RN coordinates those functions associated with level of care determination / placement, and collaborates with other departmental staff diverting of patient to more appropriate level of care from ED, and assuring projected discharge occurs in a timely manner resulting in an available bed. Collaborates with pre-admission care coordinators, i.e. transport coordinators, physicians, nursing staff, ancillary and other professional multidisciplinary team staff to define and achieve optimal placement outcomes.

Required qualifications:

  • upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License.
  • 3 years Experience in acute care setting.
  • Clinical experience sufficient to understand and communicate medical diagnosis and course of treatment to professional and nonprofessional personnel.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
