We are seeking a Marine Outfitting Design Lead to oversee the design and integration of outfitting components for new shipbuilding projects and vessel refurbishments. This role involves leading a team of designers and engineers to ensure that all outfitting elements, such as interior spaces, equipment, and safety systems, are designed to meet project specifications, regulatory standards, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in marine outfitting design, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from concept to completion.

*Marine Outfitting Design Lead Responsibilities*



* Lead the design and development of outfitting layouts, including accommodation spaces, safety systems, deck equipment, and other onboard installations.

* Oversee the preparation of detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support outfitting activities.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including naval architects, structural engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of outfitting components into overall vessel design.

* Conduct design reviews, identify potential design issues, and provide solutions to optimize functionality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

* Manage a team of designers, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing design team.

* Interface with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather design requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure alignment with project objectives.

* Monitor project progress, ensuring that design deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with quality standards.

* Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in marine outfitting to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.

* Support the preparation of bid packages, cost estimates, and technical proposals for outfitting projects.


*Marine Outfitting Design Lead Position Requirements*



* 10 years of experience in Shipbuilding (Detailed Design)

* Associates Degree in related field or additional 5 years of experience

* 5 years of AutoCad experience

* 3D AutoCAD and/or ShipConstructor experience will be a plus

* Proficient at MS Office Applications, especially Excel, Outlook and Word
