Electric (High Voltage) Battery Cell Engineer

Summary: Researches, develops, designs, and tests high & low voltage electric components, equipment, systems, networks, electronics, and standards.

Designs high & low voltage equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Defines standards for high voltage safety, compliance & regulatory, release criteria, and best practices for both components and vehicles globally. Defines vehicle feature requirements to drive software and controls implementation into the vehicle and components

Gain hands on industry experience in the development of innovative propulsion technology solutions for the Org., including internal combustion, electric mobility and autonomous driving. Opportunity will apply engineering principles to develop and validate complex powertrain components and systems that sets the industry benchmark for performance, efficiency, cost, reliability, and safety.

Develop, validate, and release battery cells for the HV battery.
Establish test procedures (including instrumentation, fixturing, test environment) to fulfill DVPR requirements.
Lead battery cell suppliers to ensure fulfillment of component and performance specifications.
Interface with the engineering lab and internal/external test facilities to execute HV battery cell testing.

Utilize structured problem solving methods to identify root cause for powertrain system issues and integrate corrective actions into new & existing designs.

Conduct and thoroughly document project work, draw conclusions, and make recommendations and review with management.
Promptly resolve plant build issues and field problems.
Lead cross-functional activities with regional and global counterparts in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, and Suppliers.

Communicate effectively and maintain professional/social interaction in a multi-cultural and International environment.
15% Domestic and International travel required

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Electrical Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering. Master of Science in Electrochemistry Preferred. Requires min. 5 years of relevant experience.
