Your Role:
As a Desktop Support Technician, you'll provide day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal endpoint systems software and hardware. The role will Install, configure, and troubleshoot endpoint systems (laptop, desktop, smartphone), servers and network issues in a heterogeneous environment. Additionally, maintain passwords, data integrity and file system security for the endpoint environment. The incumbent will communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
The role will work in an office environment (4-5 days/week) sitting at a desk, table or computer workstation for long periods of time. Approximately 70-90 percent of time spent on the job involves the use of a personal computer.
Your work:
- The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for end point support (low to medium) software and hardware incident support within service levels.
- Responsible for new installations of hardware and software through the IT Service Catalog and service request process within service levels.
- Learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks and assignments. Incumbent possesses moderate understanding of general job aspects and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
- Responsible for Tier II (low to medium) software and hardware incident support within service levels.
- When needed and asked, provide on-site technical support for other teams i.e. Infrastructure, IT Security
What would make us excited about you?
- Relevant experience, training and/or associate degree.
- 0-2 years IT experience (endpoint support)
- Experience working in and supporting a Call Center environment.
- Expertise with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
- Service Now experience preferred (ticketing system)
- A+ certification
- Windows 10 certifications (preferred)
- Excellent customer service and comfortable providing deskside support.
- Takes initiative in assisting customers.
- Shows respect for differences through excellent communication skills with people from an array of backgrounds.
- Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., participating in employee resource groups, volunteering, etc.)
- Lives into cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.)
- Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings
- Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc
