BSG has commenced an executive search for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for our client, a pioneer in the technology and IP communications industries, headquartered in the Greater DC Metro Area that serves clients around the world. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, building, and deploying people, processes, and technology that serve as the springboard for sustainable company growth.

THE POSITION

The Chief Operating Officer, reporting to the CEO, will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, building, and deploying people, processes, and technology that serve as the springboard for sustainable company growth.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Partner with CEO and senior leadership team to evaluate current structure and strategies of the organization to ensure continued growth and success.
  • Develop appropriate KPI's to measure and predict performance of top line growth and efficiency by creating clarity of roles and full accountability that are sufficiently predictive to enable near real-time intervention into problem areas, such as but not limited to, inventory management.
  • Create and implement a plan to reduce redundancies across the organization.
  • Partner with senior leadership on new systems integrations.
  • Assess organizational structure and recommend changes for optimization and efficiency.
  • Continually drive innovation within operations.
  • Champion the recruiting, selecting, orientating, training, coaching, and disciplining of the operations team as needed.
  • Champion the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of organizational management protocols, practices, and tools.

Education/Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in telco, technology, or a related industry.
  • 5+ years senior level leadership experience.
LOCATION Ideal Candidate Profile

A summary of key competencies required to be successful include the following:

Functional Experience
  • Past revenue responsibility of $250M+.
  • Global customer responsibility.
  • Successful history meeting and exceeding KPI's and key revenue metrics for organizations.
  • Passion for and prior history of creating high-performing teams.
Industry Experience
  • Telecom communications/Mobile wireless networks (5G, LTE etc.).
Corporate Stage
  • Public and/or private company experience with at least 500+ employees.
  • $300m+ company revenue experience.
Management and Leadership Experience
  • Experience reporting to President/CEO in the past.
  • Experience leading teams in all aspects of operations, such as supply chain and logistics, manufacturing, and global solutions and services.
  • Experience leading IT teams a plus.
  • Experience in managing teams of 150+.
Compensation

Compensation is competitive with the position's requirements. In a performance-based environment, this will include base salary, bonus/commission structure based on individual and corporate qualitative and quantitative strategic KPIs, and performance stock option plan.

Team and Locations

Our client's staff currently numbers approximately 750+ employees worldwide. This role will report to the President and will oversee a team of 150+ consisting of, but not limited to global solutions and services, manufacturing and engineering, global facilities, quality, and IT teams.
