MidMichigan Community Health Services is a federally qualified rural community health center (FQHC) based in Houghton Lake, Michigan. We provide primary and specialty health care for all, with a particular emphasis on access for the underserved. Our organization was founded by concerned residents in the early 1970s to address the severe shortage of primary care in our area. We are still run by a local volunteer board of directors, helping to ensure that our services meet the community's needs.

The Family/Internal Medicine Physician provides a full range of medical services from general preventative care to ongoing acute and chronic illness management.
Supervision Received
Reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer
Supervision Exercised
Clinically supervise nurse practitioners, physician assistants, practice staff and technicians who are employed by or contracted by Employer.
Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
 
Performance Requirements
Knowledge of professional medical practice and the ability to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Skill in taking medical history, assessing medical condition and interpreting findings. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports and responding to correspondence. Skill in developing and maintaining quality services and quality improvement program. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited residency program.
