San Francisco CA, United States Unlearn.AI Full time

At Unlearn, our purpose is to advance artificial intelligence (AI) to eliminate trial and error in medicine. We are innovating advanced machine learning methods to leverage generative AI in forecasting patient outcomes, starting with the domain of clinical trials. We produce AI-generated digital twins of individual trial participants, enabling smaller and more efficient clinical trials to bring effective medicines to patients sooner.
Our innovative work in AI today will reinvent how AI is applied in medicine tomorrow — and we have a top secret plan for how to get there. We won’t be able to achieve this mission just by applying technologies created by others; Unlearn is a technology company, not a biotech company. We use computers, not pipettes. We make and use software, we don’t discover or make drugs. Founded in 2017 by a team of world-class machine learning scientists, we have raised venture capital from top tier investors such as Insight Partners, Radical Ventures, 8VC, DCVC, and DCVC Bio. We are headquartered in San Francisco, CA and have an additional office in Boston, MA.
We are looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead a team and deliver the software interface to Unlearn’s AI-powered Digital Twin technology. In this high-impact role, you will manage a team of experienced full stack software engineers and partner closely with our Product and Technology teams to lead initiatives that execute the delivery of software products to customers.
We are a tech-first company, and our engineers are the lifeblood of everything we do. You will partner closely with Product and Technology leadership to influence product strategy, own technical roadmaps, and successfully execute the delivery of Unlearn’s software products.
You will collaborate with engineering leaders to define high-level technical direction and promote a vibrant culture of engineering excellence.
You will lead and inspire a team of full stack software engineers by demonstrating hands-on engineering expertise.
At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Expertise on navigating the challenges that arise while developing modern web applications and supporting systems.
Expertise in frontend (React, TypeScript preferred) and backend (Python preferred) software development.
Ability to work in our San Francisco office at least 2 days per week.
Bonus: Experience developing AI/ML software products.
100% company-covered medical, dental, & vision insurance plans
~Flexible PTO plus company holidays
~ We embrace diversity and create an inclusive work environment because inclusion and diversity are essential to achieving our mission to create AI to simulate biology and improve patients' lives.
