The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) works backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi- billion-dollar businesses. AWS is looking for a Database Solution Architect, who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for helping customers in designing solutions that leverage our Data & AI services. As part of the GTM Specialist Solutions Architecture team, you will work closely with other Data & AI Specialist Architects from various geographies to enable large-scale customer use cases and drive the adoption of Amazon Web Services for Data and AI/ML platforms. You will interact with other Solution Architects in the field, providing guidance on their customer engagements, and you will develop white papers, blogs, reference implementations, and presentations to enable customers and partners to fully leverage Amazon Web Services. You will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services Data solutions into customer architectures. . You must have deep technical experience working with database technologies, from design and optimization to data migration and integration. A strong background in database development and administration is preferred, in addition to experience in building application and architecture design. You will be familiar with the database offerings on Amazon Web Services and ecosystem of software vendors in the database space, and will leverage this knowledge to help Amazon Web Services customers.
Candidates must have great communication skills and be very technical, with the ability to impress Amazon Web Services customers at any level, from executive to developer. Previous experience with Amazon Web Services is desired but not required, provided you have experience building large scale solutions. You will get the opportunity to work directly with senior data architects at customers, Database SMEs, partners and Amazon Web Services service teams, influencing their roadmaps and driving innovation.
Thought Leadership – Evangelize AWS Database services and share best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, white-papers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc.
- Partner with SAs, Sales, Business Development, Data and the AI/ML Service teams to accelerate customer adoption and providing guidance on their customer engagements.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and the AWS Database services teams to provide customer driven product improvement feedback.
- Develop and support an AWS internal community of Data related subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services GenAI solutions into customer architectures.
- You will interact closely with our customers and with the academic community.

7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications
- 5+ years of experience with Database
Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
- Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
- AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
- Computer Science /relevant degree and/or experience highly desired.
