News & World Report bestows to recognize performance in these specialties that is significantly better than the national average.

News and World Report named GW Hospital as a High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) in 2024. As a Trauma Nurse Specialist in our Level I Trauma Center - Emergency Department, you will play a critical role in delivering specialized care to trauma patients. You will work in a Level I trauma center, providing expert clinical care, education, and leadership within our dynamic trauma care team.

Assess, triage, and provide advanced nursing care to trauma patients in the Emergency Department.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary trauma team, including physicians, surgeons, and respiratory therapists, to ensure seamless patient care.
Develop and deliver trauma education programs for ED staff, including trauma simulations and drills.
Participate in trauma research initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes.
Advocate for the needs of trauma patients and their families, providing emotional support and guidance.
Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
