Life Cycle Engineering (LCE)* is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Reliability System Safety and Supportability.

*This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated *Principal System Safety Engineer* to join us on the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) System Safety team in Tewksbury, MA.
As a *Principal System Safety Engineer*, your responsibilities will include:

* Analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance.
* Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.
* Performing System Safety Program or Design analyses
* Working with a large system safety program or multiple mid-sized safety programs, including:
* Monitoring program technical execution,
* Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors)
* Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval

* Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
* Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
* Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
* System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.
* S. government issued security clearance is required. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
*Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
* Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel
* Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
