Meet Reality SF:
We are a community following Jesus, seeking renewal in our city.
Reality SF (Reality SF) is a church located in the heart of San Francisco, California. The church started with a prayer meeting in Hayes Valley. It began with just a few locals of the city who had heard about a new church community and about 13 people who had moved up from the Santa Barbara area. The first prayer meetings were full of dependence upon God and anticipation of what He might want to do.
San Francisco is one of the least churched cities in the nation and by God's grace, Reality SF has grown from a few dozen people to over 2000. In August of 2021, the church moved into its new permanent facility on Valencia Street in the Mission District. Although communicating the Gospel to a diverse, progressive, and creative city like San Francisco has been one of the most challenging, yet inspiring endeavors, Reality SF continues its mission as a community of people who have been renewed by the Gospel of Jesus with the purpose of making Him known. It is their desire to communicate the unchanging truth of the person and work of Jesus Christ in a way that everyone in the city and culture can comprehend.
Reality SF is part of a family of churches held closely together through relationships, a shared philosophy of ministry, and a deep commitment to the Gospel of Jesus.
About the Executive Director:
Reality SF is seeking an Executive Director who is a follower of Jesus, mature in faith and submission to the Bible, and faithful in following the leading of the Holy Spirit consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the church.
This position will oversee, develop and organize the staff and be responsible for aligning ministry departments while providing leadership development that supports healthy, long-term sustainability & growth of the church. This role will also organize and implement high-level initiatives with the Lead Pastor and in alignment with and in submission to the Eldership in the church.
The Executive Director Responsibilities Include:
Understand Reality SF’s DNA in order to leverage the best and challenge setbacks of Reality SF’s culture.
Establish and maintain a set of key performance measures (KPMs) that provide the Lead Pastor and church staff with ongoing visibility of the effectiveness of all functional areas of the church. Ensure alignment of staff to the mission & vision of Reality SF in all ministries
Provide direct or indirect support and care for the staff. This is demonstrated by oversight/accountability to KPM’s and through maintaining a pulse on what their individual and collective needs are.
Motivate the staff, in love, to perform at a very high level with energy and enthusiasm and serve as a 'manager' role model.
Drive efficiency and excellence and continuous improvement across Reality SF systems.
Set strategic and tactical department goals and hold people accountable for results.
Oversee several functions simultaneously and cultivate integration and collaboration across the organization.

What it's Like to Live in San Francisco, California:
Perched atop hills and filled-in marshland at the entrance to one of the Pacific’s largest natural harbors, San Francisco has had an outsized influence on the history of California and the United States. Originally a Spanish (later Mexican) mission and pueblo, it was conquered by the United States in 1846 and by an invading army of prospectors following the 1848 discovery of gold in its hinterland. The Gold Rush made San Francisco a cosmopolitan metropolis with a frontier edge. Over the years, the metroplex has proven itself to be a center of wealth, military power, progressive culture, and high technology.
San Francisco is a popular international tourist destination, and the industry itself has become the backbone of the San Francisco economy. The city is renowned for a number of its unique characteristics like its chilly summer fog, steep rolling hills, and eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture. Its notable landmarks including the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, and Chinatown are just a few of its recognizable features.
San Francisco is also very much an international city and continues to be a place where people from all over the world come to work, visit, and play. As such it provides a unique opportunity for Jesus’ church to not only impact the city but also the world through the Gospel of Jesus lived out.
