ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Lead the accounting function of the firm
  • Serve as a business partner to the Renaissance Operating Committee including the CEO and CFO, providing input on key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives and performance of the firm
  • Provide strategic input on key company decisions leveraging knowledge of company financials
  • Communicate financial results to senior management on a timely, accurate and effective basis
  • Develop and direct the company’s budget cycle, accounting policies and procedures, financial analytics (including dashboard reporting for Renaissance Operating Committee), for insights and recommendations to guide the overall company strategy
  • Coordinates efforts of offshore resources as an extension of the onshore team
  • Ensure the proper design and implementation of financial and accounting systems, processes, budgeting, and reporting procedures to effectively drive the growth of the firm while protecting the firm’s assets and assuring all requirements are met for regulators and auditors
  • Prepares GAAP and tax workpapers for external auditors, leads external audit and tax relationships and oversees annual audit
  • Leads compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions
  • Engages and leads accounting team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and developing team members
  • Maintain and monitor all appropriate insurance coverage and cyber security

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent in years of experience and training
  • CPA or public accounting experience required
  • Familiarity with partnership/limited liability and corporate/C-corp accounting standards and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of financial/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel/Powerpoint
  • Deep understanding of financial accounting, P&L, Balance Sheet management and revenue recognition methodologies
  • Ability to effectively mentor and manage accounting team members
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders' expectations
  • Strong financial analysis and planning skills; demonstrated strong business acumen
  • Professional services industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and balance team and individual workloads through effective time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Experience in promoting and supporting continuous improvement focused on quality, workflow processes, and efficiencies
  • Capability and experience in leveraging resources including people, technology, research, and data to maximize performance
  • Organizational skills to simultaneously manage several projects, provide successful outcomes, and accurately document all activity in a timely manner
  • Confident and effective communications skills with a professional demeanor through oral and written means with a diverse range of individuals both internally and externally
