The responsibilities of the Quality Technician include but not limited to the following job duties.
Develop and initiate standards and methods for examination, inspection, measurement and testing of material used to manufacture product.
Support the Quality Engineer function by collecting and distributing data relevant to specified projects. Assure that material meets engineering specification and customer requirements.
• Provide tactical quality support to operations by Investigating, Troubleshooting and Reporting on Internal (supplier and assembly issues) and External (customer complaints).
• Maintain records, certifications and documentation for completed inspections.
• Participate and/or lead problem solving events under the direction of a Quality Engineer.
• Disposition material and coordinate with purchasing on supplied material. Provide tactical quality support to operations.
Basic understanding of assembly methods.
• Must be comfortable utilizing conventional measuring equipment including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, microscopes and other types of inspection devices.
• Basic understanding of blueprints and other documents that define product specification.
• Basic understanding of root cause analysis (5W1H, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
• Possess basic computer skills with experience in Microsoft Excel and Word.
