School Nurse
Located in the Capital District of upstate New York, Cohoes City School District has a total enrollment of over 2,000 students. With the goal of immersing students in learning to become creative thinkers, life-long learners and effective problem-solvers, the ideal candidate is committed to supporting student academic success. This position is part of the Cohoes Teaching Association contract. For the 10-month period, salary is based upon experience with Base Salary starting at $41,220 with no experience.
We are a small city school district with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that offers big opportunities and collaborative relationships where colleagues come together to help each other out. We seek to support engaged partnerships among educators, staff, students and families that foster important connections that benefit our students. You will work a 7-hour per day, Monday through Friday schedule, in a 10-month schedule of 183 scheduled work days that mirrors the "school" time-off schedule of holidays and recess periods (and snow days). This position is a professional position located in Cohoes High School and is responsible for performing routine nursing services for students. Duties include, among others, assessing for illness/injury and providing emergency treatment, preparing and maintaining school health records, administering prescribed treatments and performing health screenings as necessary. Requirements are graduation from a school of nursing approved by the State Education Department from a course approved as qualifying for Registered Professional Nurse.
