Hospital
For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. Backus is home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and is the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. The Hospital delivers and coordinates a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of its communities.
Hartford Healthcare Heart & Vascular Institute
This rapidly expanding Institute includes six acute care hospitals, including Backus Hospital. The Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute brings together cardiac care specialists – increasing collaboration and care coordination – all under one roof. Our system of care includes a truly integrated team with the most talented, experienced, and compassionate caregivers and providers, backed by the latest cutting-edge technology.
Advanced Practitioner Role Scope The Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant will provide direct care to patients in the outpatient and inpatient setting in collaboration with physician. The provider should exhibit a passion for cardiology and be open to being part of a rapidly growing institute where adaptability is paramount.
Shift: 4-10 hour shifts, one weekend per month, no night call
At Hartford HealthCare, newly graduated and experienced providers are provided with the support and mentorship they need to succeed through on the job, classroom, and procedural training. Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred
· 3+ years of experience in a clinical area (such as cardiology) required
· Experience in cardiology preferred
