Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
**Inova Cares for Women is part of Inova’s Community Health service line. We pride ourselves in providing prenatal and gynecological care for Northern Virginia’s uninsured and low-income community members. Our patient population is culturally diverse, though predominantly Spanish-speaking. This RN position will provide care across multiple Inova Cares for Women clinics in Fairfax County.
The Registered Nurse Outpatient provides safe/therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. Incorporates differences into the provision of care while integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families to include patient and family education. Incorporates data and information to improve care and enhances outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings. Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include taking vitals, stocking exam rooms, giving vaccines, blood draws, etc.
- Formulates plans of care based on trends of similar patients including patient education and discharge planning. Evaluates patient outcomes and makes revisions to plans of care.
- Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs including cultural, ethical and spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional healthcare needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options, end of life options). Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.
- Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Documents all patient care activities as per documentation standards. Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process.
- Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members while displaying leadership behaviors.
- Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start
2 year of experience in Women's Health is preferred
Bachelors Degree Nursing BSN. Other: - Communication / Speaking / Writing Proficient in English. Proficient computer skills are required. Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
