Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse, Behavioral Health Unit is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals with mental health needs. This role requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely information exchange
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- One year of experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required
- Compact State Licensure in Nursing required
- BLS certification required
The Registered Nurse, Behavioral Health Unit works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions. The role requires the ability to work effectively in a team setting, communicate clearly and concisely, and maintain a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.
The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary for instances of exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes. The hospital provides PPE to ensure a safe working environment.
