OnsiteWe are growing and adding a Manufacturing Engineering (2nd Shift) position supporting our CNS product lines in our Melbourne, FL facility.
In this role, you will make an impact by evaluating and solving everyday manufacturing problems related to design, process, and supplier issues for the manufacture of high-quality electronic assemblies. You will provide technical support to operations in the form of enabling and improving the flow of manufacturing utilizing the LEAN principles.
Our ideal candidate will be a curious self-starter with excellent teaming, communication, and relationship building abilities. You will make a significant contribution to the developing, verifying, and sustaining assembly and test processes, test equipment, and test procedures that will be used in the manufacturing of new and existing Collins Aerospace products.
The second shift work schedule is 4/10 M-Th from 2:30pm - 1am. Relocation assistance is available.
*Participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product Quality.

* Identify component test failure trends and perform root cause analysis. Prepare test failure analysis reports as required for production.

* Study performance and reliability of existing test equipment and establish programs and solutions for decreasing test equipment downtime.

* Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction, test efficiency, test yields, and manufacturing test capacity opportunities.

* Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate staffing and test equipment needs. Identify new test approaches that will minimize production staffing needs and capital requirements.

* Select and order capital test equipment using sound cost/payback analysis. Improve existing test fixtures and equipment needed to improve test performance.

* Participates in Production Readiness Reviews to determine suitability of new designs for production.

* Support efforts to conduct gage R&R efforts on new test solutions to verify consistent product and equipment performance. Drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple assembly process steps

* Analyze and understand factory needs and requirements.

* Conduct Process Flow analysis and make improvements.

* Develop tools that enable manufacturing or increase production rates.

* Implement Procedure and process improvements based on safety, quality, and productivity.

* Improving production facilities and equipment layouts

*Improve & Maintain test documentation for current configuration and oversee accurate change management procedures for all test documents.

*Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience *or *an Advanced Degree in a related field *or* in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
