Position Overview: As the Director of Project Finance at our esteemed Solar Development firm, you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial strategy and execution of our solar energy projects. Leveraging your expertise in project finance, tax equity, financial modeling, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), you will lead the financial structuring and optimization of our solar initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy Development: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's solar project development goals.
  2. Project Financing: Lead the identification, negotiation, and structuring of project financing solutions, including debt, tax equity, and other financial instruments, to optimize capital structure and enhance project profitability.
  3. Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate project economics, including cash flow projections, return on investment (ROI) analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
  4. Tax Equity Structuring: Drive the structuring and execution of tax equity transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and optimizing tax benefits for the company and investors.
  5. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Lead financial due diligence and analysis for potential M&A opportunities, including evaluating target companies, conducting financial modeling, and supporting negotiations and deal structuring.
  6. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with solar project development, including market risks, regulatory risks, and project-specific risks.
  7. Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including lenders, investors, government agencies, and other external partners, to facilitate project financing and drive successful project outcomes.
  8. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to the project finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  2. Proven track record of 7+ years of experience in project finance, with a focus on renewable energy projects, particularly solar.
  3. Deep understanding of tax equity structures and experience in structuring tax equity transactions for renewable energy projects.
  4. Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, with advanced Excel skills and experience using financial modeling software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, or similar tools).
  5. Strong knowledge of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) principles and experience in supporting M&A transactions, including due diligence, financial analysis, and deal structuring.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  7. Strategic mindset with a focus on driving results and achieving financial objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  8. Leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of finance professionals.
  9. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment, working closely with project development, engineering, legal, and other teams to achieve project goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional certifications.
  2. Experience working with renewable energy developers, EPC contractors, or financial institutions specializing in renewable energy finance.
  3. Knowledge of energy market dynamics, renewable energy policies, and regulatory frameworks
