Assistant Store Manager – Pet Supplies Plus Overview Do you love shopping with your four‑legged family members? Responsibilities Lead by example – greet customers and their pets, assist them in product selection, and support store team members during training and daily tasks. Recognize and collaborate with local pet‑rescue groups to host adoption events. Participate in sales analysis, develop plans to maximize sales, increase customer engagement, and improve store productivity in partnership with the Store Team Leader. Create a positive, welcoming environment for both staff and neighbors, and build a reputation for reliable, knowledgeable, pet‑centric service. Assist in operational management, including cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security policies. Promote team engagement and morale by acknowledging individual motivations, rewarding performance, and providing coaching and career development opportunities. Support recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining a fully staffed team. Partner with community organizations on events and marketing initiatives. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of retail team‑leadership experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; high school diploma or GED required. Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Physical ability to operate all equipment, including forklift, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds . Flexible schedule, reliable transportation, and ability to pass a drug test; must be 18 years or older.
