Description SUMMARY Services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness by performing the following duties: Responsibilities Process daily incoming and outgoing material to meet Quality Control requirements as stated in the AAR ISO 9000 Procedures Manual and Customer Requirements Manual. Assist the Director of Quality Control in reviewing and updating department standards. Interface with suppliers/product line to disposition rejects. Perform NDT inspections in compliance with customer work instructions, and AAR procedures and policies. Record all inspection functions on applicable paperwork in accordance with the customer policies and procedures. Be responsible for Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) of Aircraft and Components. Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the NDT method(s) as used by the employer. Assume technical responsibility for the NDT facility and staff. Select the method and technique for a specific inspection. Prepare and verify the adequacy of procedures and work instructions. Approve NDT procedures and work instructions for technical adequacy. Possess a general knowledge of other NDT methods, product manufacturing, and inspection technologies used by the employer. Have basic knowledge of aircraft or vehicle maintenance when specified in the written practice. Provide or direct training, examination, and certification of personnel. Conduct NDT for the acceptance of parts and document the results if a demonstration of proficiency was included in the practical examination. Audit outside agencies to ensure the requirements of the written practice are met when specified in the written practice. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Level II certification for one or more applicable NDT disciplines. Ability to correctly use one or more types of applicable NDT equipment. 3–4 years experience in aircraft NDT. Familiar with aircraft manufacturers’ technical documentation. Ability to read and interpret ADs, S/Bs, SRMs, industry NDT specifications and other work instructions. Familiar with regulatory requirements of FAR 145 repair station. FAA A&P License preferred. Education and/or experience: Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
