Position description The University of California San Diego, Department of Surgery, is committed to academic excellence within its faculty, staff, and student body seeks to recruit Project Scientist(s). The selected candidate(s) will be responsible for: Designing, managing, and conducting experiments Leading projects and making significant contributions to research objectives Training, teaching, and mentoring students and colleagues in laboratory techniques Participating in and presenting at scientific meetings Preparing scientific reports, manuscripts, and grant proposals for submission and/or publication Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist level will be based on the candidate's background and experience. A link to the full description of the Project Scientist series is provided for your review: Qualifications Basic qualifications Candidates must hold a terminal doctoral degree in a health-related field, such as an MD (or equivalent), PhD, DVM, or a combined doctoral degree (e.g., MD/PhD). Preferred qualifications Candidates with experience in mouse genetics, as well as hands‑on experience with mouse models of autoimmune disorders, are preferred.
