Equipment Reliability Engineer – AIT • Mobile, AL, United States Summary The Equipment Reliability Engineer is responsible for identifying and managing reliability and maintainability of all A220 Final Assembly Line assets at Airbus Assembly Plant in Mobile, Alabama. Duties and Responsibilities Identifies and manages asset reliability risks that could adversely affect A220 Final Assembly Line assets or business operations through fault elimination, risk management, life‑cycle management and performance monitoring. Performs FMEA on critical equipment components, evaluates spare‑parts requirements, and works with the customer to ensure proper levels of safety stock to minimize downtime. Performs Root‑Cause Analysis of equipment failures, creates corrective action plans and updates maintenance plans to improve uptime. Tracks KPIs (Equipment Availability, MTBF, MTTR) and performs analysis to identify improvement opportunities. Reports KPIs, communicates opportunities and improvement plans to the customer. Evaluates the effectiveness of existing maintenance procedures and frequencies, recommends improvements and implements them using internal resources. Leads the maintenance team, identifies training needs, and performs or organizes training. Ensures maintenance procedures and processes comply with all applicable safety, health and environmental regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or two‑year technical degree required. Five years of related experience and/or training in an equivalent position. Experience in Aerospace Automated Assembly Systems, Automotive BIW, Chassis/Glass, Special Welding, etc. Experience working with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus. Work Authorization / Security Clearance Requirements N/A Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Reads and understands blueprints, schematics and measuring devices. Reliable, responsible, dependable and consistently meets deadlines. Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks. Clear and effective communication skills in written and spoken forms. Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office and database tools. Responds and follows up to a customer’s inquiry in a timely and effective manner. Identifies problems, reviews relevant information, develops options and implements solutions. Works effectively with different levels of management, team members and customers. Work Conditions Indoors – production and office environment, temperature controlled unless located outdoors. Exposure Types Cuts and/or burns Dirt, dust, grease and/or oil Noisy environment Work Hours & Travel Standard work schedule; overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines, required travel and emergent conditions. Remote – perform job responsibilities from customer work sites. Physical Demands Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like. Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
