Senior Data Scientist

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team. You will use scientific methods, algorithms, and data-driven approaches to extract insights from structured and unstructured data. Combining statistics, machine learning, and domain expertise, you’ll help solve real-world business problems and deliver practical, high-impact solutions. The ideal candidate has experience building end-to-end analytical or NLP models, a solid understanding of machine learning, and strong analytical and development skills. Responsibilities Identify business problems and define analytical approaches to solve them Build, validate, and optimize machine learning and NLP models, including custom Large Language Models (LLMs) for batch and streaming pipelines Translate complex data into clear insights, reports, and visualizations Collaborate with data science, MLOps, and engineering teams to design and deploy scalable, production-ready model solutions Develop and maintain frameworks to evaluate model accuracy, consistency, and performance, following established standards and best practices Evaluate tools, frameworks, and methods to ensure effective project delivery Requirements Proven experience in data science or applied machine learning, including building and deploying models on large structured and unstructured datasets Strong programming skills in Python and libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow and PyTorch Practical experience developing NLP models, ideally with transformer-based architecture, and familiarity with techniques such as extractive and generative NLP Experience implementing large-scale information search and retrieval solutions, including keyword and semantic search using embeddings Knowledge of developing, fine-tuning, and optimizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and related AI solutions is a plus Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable business insights and communicate them effectively across teams Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and MLOps concepts is an advantage We offer Engineering community of industry professionals Friendly team and enjoyable working environment Flexible schedule and opportunity to work remotely within Poland Chance to work abroad for up to 60 days annually Business-driven relocation opportunities Outstanding career roadmap Leadership development, career advising, soft skills, and well-being programs Unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning, Get Abstract, Cloud Guru Stable income (Employment Contract or B2B) Participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan Benefits package (health insurance, multisport, shopping vouchers) Strategically located offices featuring entertainment and relaxation zones, table tennis and football, free snacks, fantastic coffee, and more Referral bonuses Corporate, social and well-being events EPAM is a leading global provider of digital platform engineering and development services.
