Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Practice Emergency Medicine in Saratoga Springs, New York Pay Range: $70 - $80/hr. Full‑Time, varied shifts. Overview The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Advanced Practice Provider, APP) in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care serves as an additional patient care provider, augmenting and extending services provided by the health care team. The NP/PA works closely with team members, has a reasonable amount of autonomy in patient care and medical decision‑making, and serves at several locations, including Saratoga Hospital Emergency Department, Emergent Care, and Urgent Care. Key Responsibilities Assessment and management of patients, including ordering diagnostic tests, consultations, therapeutic interventions or procedures, and the implementation and evaluation of an appropriate plan of care. Provides comprehensive health care sensitive to the needs of the population: assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, counselling, and referrals as appropriate, enabling patient choice. Augments a physician’s ability to provide medical services to patients; collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, and provides direct patient care services. Conducts patient assessments and complete physical examinations, collects clinical data, prepares patients for tests, therapy, or treatments, orders and interprets medical laboratory test results, diagnoses medical conditions, administers medications or treatments, and performs minor surgery. Completes accurate patient documentation for effective billing and maintains detailed patient medical reports. Serves as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment and discharge, including patient triage. Maintains current level of knowledge relative to professional practice. Maintains all required professional documentation: license, certifications (infection control, ACLS/BLS, DEA, etc.), and system requirements. Acts as a resource to staff and implements educational programs as needed. Qualifications Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State by the time of credentialing.
