The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is responsible for providing rehabilitative occupational therapy treatments and services for our home health patients who need assistance and training in ambulation, transferring, gait training, and home exercise programs. This Therapy Assistant role will work under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist in accordance with the Home Health Plan of Care. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is part of the interdisciplinary home care team including RNs, PTs, SLPs, MSWs, and Home Health Aides.

What we are looking for:
Our Home Health OT team needs a Certified Assistant who, in addition to their primary job responsibilities, will help our patients by providing support, and by developing trusting, caring relationships. The COTA is required to:
Be a graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA) or its successor organizations and be certified by the AOTA as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
Have a Minimum of two years' experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with community/home health experience preferred.
Maintain a current license to practice as a COTA from the Commonwealth of PA or have made application for same.
Be eligible to take of have successfully completed the entry-level certification exam for Occupational Therapy Assistants as administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Possess a valid PA Driver License and reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with PA state requirements.
Meet all physical requirements of the position and deal effectively with stress.
Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor and be able to communicate effectively and relate courteously and cooperatively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisor, and co-workers.
Demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm, and willingness to work constructively with other home health care team members and reflect concern for the well-being of patients and others.
