Corporate Controls Infrastructure Engineer

Overview This position may be located in Dallas, TX, Ames, IA, or Wooster, OH. Position Summary The Corporate Controls Infrastructure Engineer will be a member of the Daisy Brand Corporate Controls Engineering Department with a focus on Control System Infrastructure. The Engineer will primarily be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the Control System at each Daisy Brand site to ensure proper uptime, performance, user access, and security. They will work on Controls and Automation projects to support installation of new Control System components and upgrade of existing Control Systems at all of Daisy Brand's Facilities, perform the actual installation when assigned, and provide remote support for all Facilities. Reporting The Corporate Controls Infrastructure Engineer will report directly to the Corporate Controls Infrastructure Engineering Team Leader and will be based out of the Wooster, OH Manufacturing Facility. Principal Duties Maintain the Plant Controls & Automation Systems, specifically PLC and HMI firmware updates, to keep Control Systems up to date with needed features and cybersecurity mitigations. Maintain Rockwell Software infrastructure, including AssetCentre PLC and HMI asset management and backups, licensing, Studio5000 and FactoryTalk View SE software, and staying current on Rockwell-supplied patches. Maintain AVEVA System Platform and MES infrastructure, including staying current on AVEVA-supplied patches, automatic galaxy backups, licensing, and providing Technical Support for AVEVA systems. Develop and maintain configuration for system monitoring tools that report on abnormal conditions within the Control Systems. Specify OS, hardware, software, and network configurations on all Daisy Brand Engineering Servers and maintain documentation related to all Engineering Servers. Approve Microsoft patches for all Daisy Brand Engineering Servers based on published patch compatibilities from Rockwell Software and AVEVA, coordinating with IT Infrastructure Team and plant personnel to install patches with minimal plant impact. Develop and maintain documentation for Control System Standards. Develop and maintain Backup and Recovery Standards for all relevant Engineering devices, coordinating with IT to have them execute backups according to developed standards. Maintain Control System networks, including Device Level Ring, industrial Ethernet/IP switch technology, and legacy ICs network technology such as ControlNet. Collaborate on and document network design and standards; provide network assignments and documentation for all Control System devices, and coordinate with IT on Control System connection and traffic requirements across IT networks. Manage existing user access within the Control System environments, including a quarterly audit of user access levels; provide consultation and support on new user access as authorized by Controls Engineering Manager. Provide Controls & Automation Systems Technical Support utilizing the Daisy Brand HELP Desk System, including PLC and AVEVA ArchestrA development tasks. Maintain design & specification documentation of Plant Control System Architecture, including Control Panels, Hardware, and Communication Protocols. Provide technical consultation on Control System Obsolescence projects. Partner with 3rd Party Controls Engineering partners. Skills 7+ years working within a Controls & Automation Engineering role in Food & Beverage, Consumer Goods, or similar Industry. Advanced Ladder Logic Programming within Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix). Advanced HMI Development, preferably within Wonderware (AVEVA) ArchestrA System Platform. Understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming Principles. Experience with Ethernet/IP Communication within a Plant Control System. Experience configuring and maintaining industrial managed switches such as Stratix (preferred). Experience with AVEVA MES or similar MES platform (preferred). Experience with .NET programming environment (preferred). Experience with SQL Databases (preferred). Familiarity with Design/Specification of Process Control Panels (preferred). Excellent Formal and Informal Communication Skills, Professional Attitude, and Professional Appearance. Strong Computer Skills (MS Office). Qualifications Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college/university. Open to 25% Travel. Daisy Brand is a Tobacco and Drug Free Workplace.
