Principal Civil Structural Engineer – Westinghouse Electric Company Requisition Number: 29150Location: Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States (hybrid work environment) About the Role As a Principal Civil Structural Engineer you will support civil and structural design activities, including structural systems evaluation for steel members, reinforced concrete, composite steel, and resolving technical issues related to the design of building structures. You will report to the Manager of BOP Design and Module Fabrication Support for Building Engineering & Physical Design. Key Responsibilities Design and develop infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and buildings, ensuring safety and efficiency Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications Evaluate structural systems—steel members, reinforced concrete, composite steel Resolve technical issues for building structure design, fabrication, assembly, and construction phases Provide technical justification for design changes and troubleshoot emergent issues Offer on‑site support at utilities, sites, and smaller projects Use ANSYS, LS‑DYNA, and GTSTRUDL Maintain software compliance records and close engineering corrective actions Apply industry civil/structural codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, ASCE, and AWS Create sketches and markups using AutoCAD or similar CAD tools Document design change proposals, revisions, new documents, and drawing generation Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering 8+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering Expertise in civil/structural evaluations and design engineering Interest in nuclear applications and pursuit of FE/EIT, PE certification Experience with ANSYS, LS‑DYNA, GTSTRUDL or similar tools Base salary range: $103,200 to $129,000 per year (dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills) Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage and Health Savings Account (HSA) Wellness programs, including Employee Assistance Program for employees and household members 401(k) with company match contributions Paid vacations and company holidays Flexible work arrangements to promote work‑life balance Educational reimbursement and career development programs Global recognition and service programs Employee referral program Westinghouse is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
