Position Overview Integrus is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Architectural Specifications Writer to ensure the quality, compliance, and accuracy of project documentation. This position will work closely with and report to the Level II Specification Writer, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration. Ideal candidates have a strong background in architectural materials, construction methods, and industry standards, with the ability to collaborate closely with project teams. As an Architectural Specifications Writer, you will: Develop and maintain architectural specifications for various projects. Collaborate with architects, designers, consultants, and contractors to align specifications with design intent and project goals. Research and evaluate materials, products, and systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. Update master specifications to align with evolving construction technologies and sustainability requirements. Provide technical guidance to project teams regarding material selection and performance. Conduct document reviews and assist in coordination with consultants and engineers. Stay updated on industry trends, sustainability practices, and regulatory changes. Support project managers in completing projects within budget and on schedule. Develop client trust on assigned projects and maintain a positive firm image. Assist designers with technical research on building products and systems. Attend in-house reviews and acquire an understanding of project contract requirements. Review agreements to understand roles and responsibilities during all project phases. Assist design teams in material, equipment, and method development. Develop and edit Integrus master specifications. Coordinate technical specifications with project requirements. Prepare Division 1 - General Requirements and Divisions 2-14 specifications. Assist PM/PA in answering bidder questions and preparing addenda. Other Responsibilities Maintain familiarity with project delivery methods such as design/bid/build, design/build, and negotiated construction contracts. Stay informed on commonly used state and federal spec systems. Represent Integrus with professionalism and integrity. Support firm policies and management decisions positively. Maintain active membership in the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). Seek opportunities to improve professional skills Perform other duties as assigned. Proficiencies Proficient with verbal and written communication skills. Solid skills with Integrus standard computer programs. Working knowledge of office network and web research abilities associated with the responsibilities. Possess an understanding of how project manuals are produced and be familiar with Word, Bluebeam, and Adobe software. Position Requirements Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, recommended but not required Architect: Licensed to practice architecture in a minimum of one U.S. state recommended but not required CSI CDT Certification –Recommended/Preferred CSI CCS Certification - Recommended 5+ years of experience in architectural specifications writing, with leadership experience preferred. Advanced knowledge of CSI MasterFormat, specifications writing software (e.g., BSD SpecLink), and contract documentation. Expertise in building codes, sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL), and industry regulations. Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and deliver high-quality specifications on time Salary Range This position offers $75,000 - $95,000 per year. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience and market.
